To begin with, it takes time. In many cases, a lot of time. The best thing to do to help your wife right now is to listen to her. When she’s upset, angry, and mad… acknowledge her feelings. Tell her that she has every right to be upset. Also, apologize for the harm you’ve caused. Tell her that what you did was wrong and you regret it.
People often dwell in their anger when they don’t feel that their partners understand what they are going through. Don’t try to rush the process, or speed it along, rather let her move at her own pace.
