Good question. When the results are further away from the center… the stronger impact the attachment style has on one’s behavior. People with strong confident, concerned, or cool styles of attachment are consistently pulled in one direction in terms of their emotional responses and reactions. And people with a strong confused style of attachment experience mixed and contradictory feelings.
People who are near the center of the bullseye experience mixed emotions and motivations, but not to the same extent that people with a strongly confused style of attachment do. Those near the center most likely feel contradictory feelings, but not to the extent that it becomes debilitating. Unlike other styles of attachment, their emotional responses and reactions don’t consistently pull them in one direction.
